May is a great month here in Canada. No other bird , but the Western Meadow lark tells me that spring has sprung. His call is truly the sound of the Prairies.

In the photograph to the right I can barely make out the yellow belly, but there is a mild yellow on the belly.
make you wonder sometime where the names of birds came from.

A Day to Reflect

Today is Mother’s Day. Every mother’s day I always think about my mother whom passed away a few years ago.
I got an early start today. The water in the sloughs was mirror like and allowed me to get some excellent reflection of some of the common birds.
